We are always looking to find new places to hunt for a great deer. For many years Cassidy Outfitters has been taking true Trophy Class Mule Deer in Colorado. It is my personal favorite animal to hunt and nothing gets the adrenalin going like seeing a REALLY BIG buck in the brush! Whether it is here in Colorado or elsewhere; one of the drawbacks has always been having to wait to secure a license through the drawing. I am sure you have heard about the Trophy Mule Deer to be hunted during the January rut in the Deserts of Sonora Mexico. We have been exploring the option of hunting there for a while and believe we have come up with a couple of great ranches to hunt on. Another attractive option to Mexico hunting is the chance to take a Coues Deer and Javelina at the same time.The Carnero Ranch also has a population of Desert Sheep. The Ranch and Hunting Areas
Carnero Ranch is located North West of Hermosillo. It has a modern house on the ranch with kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom with hot and cold water, and a generator for power. The ranch is almost all flat, we have two large hills that in addition to the Mule Deer produce really good Coues Deer. Access to the ranch is generally through the airport in Hermosillo; where clients will be picked up and driven to the ranch.
In addition to the great Mule Deer and Coues Deer hunting there is a also herd of Desert Bighorn Sheep. Tags are available and there are some great Rams on the ranch. Please inquire for more details if you are interested .
Only very limited guided hunting has taken place over the years and the ranch is currently being developed for the future so it can reach its potential. Food plots are being planted and more waterholes are being developed. Therefore only very limited hunting will be offered on the ranch for the next few years to allow it to develop and to continue to set up the ranch for the coming years. Only 4 hunters will have the chance to hunt on the ranch for Mule Deer and Coues Deer each January. We feel very fortunate to be able to offer this hunting opportunity and consider this to be a great chance to hunt Mexico.
Hunting in Mexico Hunting in Mexico is not the same as in the United States. There are different laws and regulations. There are different customs and languages. And there are ways to make sure you have no problems and everything goes along smoothly. That is why we have teamed with an established outfitter who lives in Mexico and knows all the ins and outs of hunting there. We take care of all of the necessary forms and applications for you to insure you of an easy, enjoyable, and trouble free trip. Traveling abroad with a rifle can be a hassle. Rifles brought into Mexico require a special permit. We can secure the permit for you or to avoid the difficulty many hunters prefer to use the rifles we have in camp at no charge. We have several rifles to choose from ranging from .243, .270, 7mm, .30-06, and .300. All have Zeiss or Leopold scopes on them and are in excellent condition.
All hunters will be accompanied by Cassidy Outfitters and English speaking company personnel from the time the enter Mexico. You will be met at the airport and driven to the ranch the day of your arrival to begin hunting the following day. On arrival at the ranch, hunters will be met by the cook and his aide, who will help them unpack and will assign them their bedrooms. Afterwards, hunters will meet their guides and adjust their rifles and prepare their gear in order to start at an early hour in the morning.
Hunting begins at dawn. After breakfast, we start hunting. The morning hunt usually lasts until noon or 1:00 p.m., when they join the driver who is expecting them for lunch. The return to the house is scheduled well into the night, as the best hunting hours are those of the late afternoon. This routine is repeated each day until they obtain their Mule Deer.
It is very important to mention that due the abundance of mule deer on the ranchs all of the past clients have experienced 100% chances to harvest an adult Mule Deer Buck, but the size and quality of the antlers depends on the hunter's luck, hunting skills, experience, tenacity, or patience. All of our hunts are Fair Chase and conducted in open and free range terrain where deer move freely. We do not have high fences. We offer the optimal conditions to get a record buck, but we cannot warranty that you will get it.
Temperature during the hunting season varies between 20 to 25C (65 to 77°F) during the day, but after sunset it descends dramatically to 0°C (32°F). During the night and, especially at dawn, it is advisable to bring a warm jacket, gloves and a ski-mask, pieces of clothing which can be left behind in the vehicle. Clean pillows and pillow cases, towels, etc., will be provided by our staff. We have a recommended gear list will send upon booking.

At no extra charge all our clients are welcome to hunt one Javelina during his hunt.
